Be be
Waiting. Love is a shoe lace. Two strings tied in a bow. Seen as a knot. United—each goes their own way.
Fresh Bread
Smells so good
Wafting aroma in kitchen air
Mixed grains ground down to flour
Massaged, kneaded by bleach blonde
Pony tail filled with passion
Ready to spread jam or honey
Captivating charm on warm toast.
I’m a cat-person
You are a dog-person.
Can ever the two love one another?
Cat’s content to lie on sofa
Or shade, watch you sun bathe;
Stroke your skin with special cream.
When you call,
I come at your beckon.
Because I want to.
I want to come on command,
Like a dog, but I’m a cat-person,
And won’t come unless coaxed
With salmon caviar.
I’m a cat-person.
You’re a dog- person.
When we’re together my heart races,
As if I was being chased by a dog.
But know—you won’t come after me.
I’m a cat-person
You’re a dog-person.
When we’re together, it’s all or nothing.
If it’s nothing, then I’m the neutered dog,
Tethered to a leash, no leaping,
Running wild with hard on.
But if it’s all, then I’m your cat
And I’ll leap into your moon lit eyes,
And bring the beans down to glow
On our backs, lying as one;
Looking up at the solar eclipse.

i love the push and pull of this piece and the wild, immersive romance. “i’ll leap into your moonlit eyes” was my favourite line.
"I want to come on command, Like a dog, but I’m a cat-person, And won’t come unless coaxed " I love the entire metaphor of this piece.
